Don't shoot the messengers

Everything about this brand resonates with me.From their use of geometry in relation to the body's contours, to their decision to juxtapose leather and silk in order to portray this. Check them out

Ann-Sofie Back Atelje

Given that the concept she explored was that of supressing one's individuality, Back Atelje managed to give a perspective on spring that in no way limited lustability. Basic shapes kept it neat and fresh, while a monochromatic palette (with the exception of the occasional splash of candy pink) kept the attention on the cut-and-flow, whether it be of the rigid leather tunics, or the loose maxi lengths of silk.

love to haight

(presidio views, haight street shots, THE shearling, wasteland)

Its not surprising that the thrift stores on haight are treasure chests considering that it is known as the playground of the sixties hippies. picked up a brilliant selection of outerwear at the goodwill; navajo-embroidered denim, oversized vintage shearlings and tasseled leather akin to that of "real" cowboys. and it was just down the road that i also found the most incredible haven- consequentially causing the ruin of yearly acquired savings. Still the vintage chanel and buttery tan leather finds made that loss oh-so-very worth it.

WEDDING BELLS

Bespoke YSL three-piecers, the Silver Rolls Royce, Galliano's lace creation, hand-dyed pale blue silk Loubitons, and daisy foliage flower garlands atop the heads of fourteen bridesmaids...the epitome of old-school glamour.

san francisco begins

(yet another refreshment stop, fishermans wharf tack, souvenirs and ticket stubs, the candy barrel)

It seems that the Californian Sunshine is already hazily becoming a memory....trying to capture america, handfuls of candyfloss at a time, and taking awe-struck trips to the candy barrel. In fact the only time we ever missed home was when we found ourselves drinking tea from the most pretentiously innovative teabags imaginable-oh to live like a tourist. First step Fisherman's Wharf, next stop Haight Street...

it seems that the warm weather is back with us once again. the sunglasses have been taken out of their dust bags, and plaits are speedily being woven into artificially salted hair, however the temperature prompts me to feel that its far too soon to be shedding the second-skin of 40 dernier, or losing the familiar chunky slouch of knitwear.  im not really sure whether i can wait six weeks for some californian sunshine...
